Power House Groups

   WHY POWER HOUSE GROUPS

Why are Powerhouse Groups so vital to the work of Northpoint? And why do we ask that every member join a Powerhouse Group before seeking church membership?

Each of the Northpoint Powerhouse Group is a small group made of about 10 to 30 people meets in their home week by week.

Northpoint Church is a cell-Church, which means it operates on two level structures, the large corporate worship on a Saturday morning and the small meetings that meet during the week being our Powehouse Groups. We are what we call open groups. Any one that is interested to develop relationships that help with spiritual growth, to enhance the love & knowledge of Jesus and His call on our lives, to find strength to live an abundant life, a place where discover and use the spiritual gifts in ministry, to help share the faith in Jesus, is welcome to attend one of our groups and become  part of it while making a meaningful and sincere contribution.

As Northpoint grows, it becomes harder to provide meaningful care to everyone in church on a Saturday morning. It is hard to care for each other when we are all facing the front of the room and listening to the preacher. It is in the connection with a group of people over months and years; praying with each other through tragedies, celebrating the big moments together, helping each other move etc.

The Powerhouse groups are a community lifestyle where we can live the life of a true Christ follower. It is in a Powerhouse Group where life changes really take place.

Why Power House Groups?

Firstly relationships aren't the point they are simply the outcome, secondly Discipleship isn't the point, it too is the outcome of group life; thirdly the service isn't the point either it is still the outcome only.

Take a look at how Jesus started His small group; when he met the disciples on the road of their ordinary life he didn't ask them to spend time with him and share his life so that he could get to know them better, He didn't say that by joining him would ensure that they would always have someone to help each other, he didn't talk to them about how they would have a chance to serve, instead Jesus called them to be fishers of men. Jesus called the disciples into a completely new life. He said join my group, follow me and you will find your purpose for living. Not only that but you will learn how to live out the purposes. If you join my group we will do more than do life together we will change the world!

PowerHouse Groups exist to change the surrounding community that they meet in, so beyond Bible study, prayer and helping one another they meet to strategize ways to take Jesus to their community, our group exist to rock their world around them.

Don't just think that the first group you go to is the group for you only, look around the groups meeting near you and join the one where you feel you fit in. Get to know the leaders and serve God in ways that are comfortable to you.

Take a look through our Groups descriptions and pray that God will lead you to a group that grows you and in turn equips you to grow His Kingdom.
